Liberland is not recognized as a sovereign state by any country in the world. It is legally classified as a micronation (the same category as Sealand), distinct from internationally recognized microstates like Monaco or San Marino. Both Croatia and Serbia have dismissed Liberland's territorial claim; Croatia, which administers the land, has called the claim 'provocative' and has blocked physical access since 2015, resulting in multiple arrests of the founder and visitors. After nearly ten years, there is almost no infrastructure on the claimed territory and no permanent residents.
