Latvia Digital Nomad Visa

Latvia's Digital Nomad Visa allows remote workers and freelancers employed by or self-employed within OECD member states to live in Latvia for up to one year, renewable once (2 years total). Unlike the Golden Visa, there is no investment requirement — eligibility is based on remote income and employment, not capital.

Government fees

State fee
€60-90 (Type D long-stay visa fee)

This is the only mandatory government fee. No investment or due diligence fee structure applies to this program.

Tax treatment

Latvia has no special non-resident nomad tax regime. Visa holders who spend ≤183 days/year in Latvia AND maintain tax residency elsewhere are not Latvian tax residents and are not taxed on foreign-sourced income. Those spending >183 days become Latvian tax residents, subject to progressive income tax up to 31% (2025 rate) on worldwide income.

Family inclusion

This visa does not currently include provisions for family members — unlike the Latvia Golden Visa, dependents cannot be included on the same application.
